ZOOM is continuing to innovate and mid 2024 update within the Zoom Workplace was focused on the share features and how to give the producer more options how to show content and the presenter.
Now when you select on the "share" there are three primary options:
1) The traditional side by side look.
2) A Picture in Picture look where the content is over the presenter's shoulder
3) A true green screen like picture in picture where the speaker is completely cut out from their background and added to the content shared.
To execute the picture in picture looks the best it's going to be paramount to have a fast processing computer and a green screen for a quality key of the background.
However, keep in mind that the Picture-in-Picture features you see are only going to be seen by the participants. When you are recording the zoom, the Zoom recording is still only going to have the traditional you in a box and your media in a box.
This is the case at the end of May 2024 and hopefully they will do an update for us to get the recording of what the audience sees. A work around for this for now is to have a screen capture from an audience member or secondary tech computer.
Now you can plan the design of your content accordingly to fit nicely on the screen during the picture in picture.
