1. In 1911, Rutherford performed an, experiment such that he bombarded the thin gold foil with high speed a particles obtained from radio active element.
● In this experiment Rutherford observed that :-
1.As most of the a particles travels in a straight line through the gold foil without deflection ,Indicates that atom is extra-ordinarily hollow with a lot of empty space inside it.
2.A few of them deflect through their origin path through large scale
This will suggested that the center of Atom is Positively Charged .
He named this positively charged center part as a "Nucleus."
3.A few a particles turned back on their original path .
Indicates that the nucleus is rigid from which a particles could recoil.
