This lesson is for kids ages 3 to 100! The objective is to create artwork inspired by Andy Goldsworthy using items from Nature! Andy Goldsworthy lives in Scotland and he creates sculptures from nature with things like flowers, icicles, leaves, mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs, and thorns. His sculptures are temporary and when the wind or rain breaks them, that is OK! He leaves the sculptures for other people to find and be surprised! Isn’t that fun?!
This week we are going to make nature art! You can work with a sibling!
1 - Learn about Andy Goldsworthy and gather supplies from nature.
2- Create your temporary sculpture and photograph it.
3- Upload your photo to Hemenway GoogleClass, ClassDojo, Flipgrid or Padlet. *Grades 3-5: please include a written Artist’s Statement describing your sculpture and any challenges you faced.
