Learn how to create a custom tool within either ‪@solidworks‬ #CAM or ‪@CAMWorksTube‬. You will start with a SOLIDWORKS part with a single revolve feature.

(Need a crash course into what CAM technology is? View our webpage: www.gsc-3d.com/3d-design-software/cam)

The sketch used to create this feature has some parameters. The sketch must be on the front plane with a vertical line of revolution and everything within the sketch must be to the right and above the origin.

Go to your respective Menu Tab, and click the button for the User Defined Tool / Holder.

This will launch the Create Tool Dialogue Box. Save your tool file; our engineer recommends you save in a separate file structure. Use a distinct name for your recollection.

(Need to learn more with real-time instruction? Attend one of our online classes: www.gsc-3d.com/training-events)

In time you'll launch the technology database. Copy a tool from the list.

And you will find more detail in the tutorial! There are more #SOLIDWORKStutorials on our blog as well: www.gsc-3d.com/blog
