I fear I am losing my mind, the metro has always been a place for secrets and lies, but I never imagined any of the stupid superstitious nonsense could be true. No, it's a trick of the light, a misfiring of neurons in the brain. None of this is real. I fear for my sanity and life -- so before I lose it all, I will write what may possibly be my final coherent thoughts, as a warning, and so I am remembered. Who is it for? Perhaps it's for the voices in my head.
15 years since the great war rained nuclear fire upon us and our world was destroyed - what a beautiful world we destroyed - and I have managed so far to keep my mind intact, and not become one of the savages you hear about beyond the ring line. Perhaps 15 years of sanity is all anyone can hope to achieve in this blackened pit beneath the earth we call home? Perhaps I lost my reason to be sane? Perhaps what I see now is the real truth. No.
Hold on to your reasons, I warn you, and stay in your home -- these tunnels will twist your brain into an unrecognizable maze of soot and death and burn your very essence away, this journey is not for the faint hearted. Be warned if you follow my path. But I must go on, to find my reason, my Yana.
