Welcome to CNC Electric channel. In this video you will know about how to test Surge Protective Device (SPD).
Every surge protector produced by CNC Electric will be tested with an insulation resistance to obtain the data of varistor voltage and leakage current, and they can only be sold when meet the standards.
Followed by the three tests included in the sampling process which also the video showed:
First, use the nominal discharge current to measure the residual voltage of the surge protector sample. Both the positive polarity and the negative polarity sequence need to be tested to ensure that the data will not exceed the voltage protection level (Up).
Then there is the action load test: under the condition of applying the maximum continuous operating voltage Uc, divided into 3 groups, each group has 5 impacts, a total of 15 impact tests, to ensure that the product does not trip.
The last is the thermal stability test. After the test product is connected to the power frequency voltage, the test current starts from 2mA, and the current value is increased after the thermal equilibrium is reached. Finally, the test is terminated after all non-linear components are disconnected. The test product is used throughout the experiment. The surface temperature rise does not exceed 120K; after 5 minutes of disconnection, the surface temperature rise does not exceed 80K.
