The Kanakata Pass and Sunderdhunga Valley trek is one of the most beautiful and challenging trek of Uttarakhand. During the trek you enjoy with great views of Maiktoli, Mrigthuini, Tharkot and Panwali Dwar, the Sunderdhunga River Valley.
Kanakata Pass, A beautiful trek route with wonderful scenic valleys and mountains, or so we thought it should be. But it was too late when we found actual truth. It was beautiful yet deadly. This is a story, not only of the serenity of the utmost beauty of Kumaon Himalaya but also the toil one has to take to reach the top.
October 12th, 2018: 9:45 PM Bagh Express - (Howrah to Kathgodam)
October 14th, 2018: Kathgodam to Bageshwar - By Car (154 km - 5Hrs 30Min)
October 15th, 2018: Bageshwar to Ritang
October 16th, 2018: Ritang to Jatoli
October 17th, 2018: Jatoli to Khatliya
October 18th, 2018: Khatliya to Maiktoli Base Camp to Khatliya
October 19th, 2018: Khatliya to Devikund via Baluni Top
October 20th, 2018: Devikund to Banhar via Nagkund
October 21st, 2018: Banahar to Kanakata to Khatliya (Due to heavy snowfall, we avoided climbing down to patharkuni and found a whole new route to khatliya behind nagkund. We reached khatliya at 7.30 pm after travelling almost 21 kms.)
October 22nd, 2018: Khatliya to Jatoli
October 23rd, 2018: Jatoli to Bageshwar
