Spring 2024 Exhibition Opening Reception
SJIMA's Spring Show Opening Reception, March 7, 2024. Attendees saw the unveiling of three incredible shows:
-- In the Nichols Gallery, 'Shades of Compassion', an exhibition of 50 photographs by 41 international photographers that guide the viewer on an inner journey to evoke the positive constructive emotion of compassion.
-- In the North Gallery, Tom Small's 'Stories in Stone and Light,' take the viewer on a deeply personal journey where stone, glass and bronze engage in a timeless conversation between the viewer, the materials and the earth.
-- In the Atrium, OctoEyes' 'Reverie: Myxogastria,' is an invitation to descend to the forest floor and explore the microcosmic world of myxogastria (slime mold), tiny fantastical fruiting bodies that inspire sculptures that light up and respond to your presence.
