This sampler is full of SFM sounds! We did a huge amount of the factory samples, including a lot of melodic and bass stuff.
After the project was complete, TE sent me a K.O. II, but I avoided using it immediately because I was super busy with other projects.
A few months later, I saw someone playing a really great live set of DnB/House with only a K.O. II here in Brooklyn, and was shocked to hear that the music sounded like my production, since so many of my sounds were being used!
That weekend, on a trip upstate outside of the studio, I was excited to dive into the K.O. II - and my god, this thing is genius. Truly, it's like a new, more capable version of an MPC and one of the only samplers of the past decade whose sound I really like (it's lo-fi and crunchy). A huge part of the sound is sequencing melodic samples (like a bass synth sample, instead of using a synthesizer).
Above is the beat I programmed upstate, which I then filmed in the studio. As you can see, this thing is a house machine !
