We present to you the third video, dedicated to the Moscow princes. The third Moscow prince was another of Daniil Alexandrovich's sons, Ivan. From an early age, he showed an aptitude for government, and his father sent him to Veliky Novgorod as a prince at the age of nine. Incidentally, his grandfather, Alexander Nevsky, held the same position at about the same age. During his brother Yuri's reign in Moscow, Ivan often substituted for him due to the latter's frequent absences. After his brother's death at the hands of the Prince of Tver, Ivan became Prince of Moscow and dedicated his entire life to the aggrandizement of his principality and revenge against the princes of Tver. And he succeeded in both!
