Lars Fritz - "Hydrodynamic electrons in Dirac-type systems: the role of particle-hole pairs"
Lars Fritz is an associate professor at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He did his PhD at the Institute of Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, back in 2003-2006. In 2007 he moved for a postdoc to Harvard University, in the USA, to the Department of Physics. Later on, in 2009 he became a Emmy Noether research group leader in the Institute for Theoretical Physics in the University of Cologne, until 2013. Subsequently he moved to Utrecht University where he has remained since.
He has wide experience in condensed matter systems and problems, such as spin glasses, quantum impurities and quantum phase transitions, graphene transport, topological insulators and spin liquids. Some of this close collaborators over the years have been Matthias Vojta, Subir Sachdev, Andrew K. Mitchell, Markus Müller and Joerg Schmalian, to name a few.
