Chest Pain After Workout?

What's one of the most common weight lifting injuries? Strains of the pectoralis major (pec major) muscle. And less common—but still important to pay attention to—tears of the pec major.

Where do these injuries occur? It's not usually along the inside where the pec major is attached to the sternum and clavicular area. Chest pain after working out usually occurs where the chest narrows and attaches to the humerus. Now if I'm starting a chest workout and am feeling restricted in this area, I'm not taking any chances that could cause an injury.

What I do instead is immediately generate blood flow by loosening up the restricted muscles. For example, I take my thumb, index, and middle fingers, lift up my arm, then gently pinch the chest muscles all the way down as low as I can, then all the way back up for a couple minutes.

To intensify this chest pain relief exercise, use a spiky massage ball to help you pinch the chest muscles.

Give these chest pain relief techniques a try and let me in the comment section if you've gotten any chest pain relief from these exercises.
