Carl "Jeff" Bianchi served as Director of Bands at James Madison High School in Fairfax, Viriginia for 29 years, retiring in 1997. Until 2017, he also served as conductor of the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. From 1964 to 1968 he played French Horn with the U.S. Marine Band, after graduating from Eastman School of Music where he played in the Eastman Wind Ensemble under the direction of Frederick Fennell. Bianchi was elected a member of the American Bandmasters Association in 1987, and he served as President of the ABA from 2007 to 2008.
