American Bandmasters Association Interview with Hal Gibson
Hal Gibson began his career in the military serving as the fourth commander of the U.S. Army Field Band, and then organizing and directing the Armed Forces Bicentennial Band. After retirement from the military, he became director of bands and professor of music at Columbus College. Post his retirement from teaching, he directed Melbourne Municipal Band. He was elected into the American Bandmasters Association in 1970 and was elected an Honorary Life Member in 2018. Keywords: American Bandmasters Association, wind band, conducting.
