CLOSING ARGUMENTS: Nya Thao Trial
Thao and Khamthaneth Rattanasack were both charged with the execution style deaths of Nemo Yang, Peng Lor, and Trevor Maloney in July 2021. Rattanasack took a plea deal, and Thao's first trial ended in a mistrial because of a hung jury.
One of the three victims was accused of taking $618 from Rattanasack, so Rattanasack and Thao followed them and forced them to the quarry. Rattanasack allegedly pistol whipped one of the victims, then forced them on their knees and handed the gun to Thao, who then shot all three.
Nya Thao is charged with three counts of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide-Party to the Crime and one count of Possession of a Firearm-Convicted by a Felony-Party to the Crime as a Repeater.
