In the iconic film adaptation of Stephen King's "The Shining", we see in the film that there was a major change... who does the caretaking. In this video we will look at how throughout the film The Shining Jack is called the "Caretaker" of the hotel - but is he really?

The title of caretaker is more than just a title, it is a list of duties and responsibilities and do we ever see Jack fufill those duties? Lets look over the breadcrumbs that Kubrick left behind in his cult classic horror film. When we see the Jack Torrance of the book he is a man desperatley fighting his demons but in the movie Jack doesnt fight the ghosts, he lets them control him and feed into his worst qualities.... and to be real he tried to off his family way to quickly... the ghosts didnt make him, he was already half way there before they ever even got to the overlook.

take a look past the horror and the supernatural to look at what we missed, a real family plauged by a father fighting addiction, anger and hate. Lets take a real and honest look at The Shining so we can say once and for all who the real Caretaker is.
