Arranging a Thy Art Is Murder song has always been on my bucket list, so boom, here it is! Download it on my Bandcamp.
The two main reasons why I arranged Reign of Darkness was to create a little challenge for myself and to show you guys how two contrasting styles (deathcore and piano) can meet in the middle and STILL SOUND PLEASANT.
In order to achieve this, I mimicked the rhythms and melodies that are in the original and structured them in a way that allows them to compliment one another without it sounding 'wrong'. So, for example, in one section I play the rhythm of CJ's vocals but I create my own melody for them, and, I create my own melody in some areas of the guitar solo but maintain it's contours and tempo. Anyway, feel free to ask me literally anything in the comments about how I put this together. I could write like over 8,000 words on it, but I want to save that time and energy on my uni essay.
