The sheikh, after attending a ballet performance in St. Petersburg, ordered tutus made for all the wives in the harem.
Anis wore hers with pride. And in one photo, she was captured just like that, a beauty with a mustache.
Another theory: supposedly, the sheikh's wives were not allowed to be photographed, so others posed.
But the beautiful women of the time posed anyway!
