Rust on peonies. Should I fight it?
The spots on my peony leaves are rust. It's a fungal disease that inevitably affects some peony varieties in the second half of summer. It doesn't affect flowering; the peonies will grow new shoots next season, and the cycle will repeat.
Do I need to fight rust? Yes, but it should be done effectively before the disease becomes severe. Now, even powerful fungicides can only slow the progression of the disease.
I do nothing, relax, and ignore it. However, when treating roses for rust, peonies also get it. But I haven't noticed any improvement.
