What is it?
Personalized learning: Helping students stay engaged and stay motivated in the best ways and environments that suit them. The goal is to have every student feel that their leads are personally being addressed.
Sean Coffron shares how Instructional Technology enables us to further personalize learning in ways that weren’t possible before.
Personalized learning is possible, but it requires a change of thinking from the traditional model to the personalized model.
Traditional Model: Teacher has a learning activity or lesson through which they impart knowledge to students
Personalized Model: The teacher creates a learning session where students are exploring and learning with guidance
Pro Tip: Teachers will find themselves in more of a facilitator role with personalized learning sessions
Personalize learning using an LMS like Schoology! Create user groups and create learning items and assessments that students can choose from in your LMS.
Pro Tip: Build lessons that have differentiated formative assessment built into the lesson
