This video goes into when you are supposed to use assembly language for your hardware startup and what programming language to learn for hardware as a beginner. When your competition already has a product out there and you want to gain an edge, you should learn machine code to make your device run faster. When you are starting out, C or C++ is best. Python is popular with Raspberry Pi, but much slower than C.
