WhamBam flex plate + PEX Sheet + Railcore II Mandala Roseworks Mag bed equal poor performance.
Here is a review of the WhamBam flame plate system on a Railcore II kit from Filastruder with the Mandala Roseworks mag bed. I was previously using the buildtak sheets for a Raise3D N2 as the build plate is almost identical in size, but the lack of easy remove tabs had me searching for another product. I came across the WhamBam flex plate and their PEX surface and thought it would be interesting to try. They have sizes specifically for the Railcore II and the benefit of the easy remove tabs I’ve grown accustomed to on my Prusa’s. Had the tests gone well I would have definitely ordered their texture sheet, but at ~$75 each + shipping, I decided to hold off until I tested these plates. The test did not go well. The parts were picked up at their office in Hollywood Fl as I live nearby. The sheets are pretty flimsy, but I didn’t really mind much as they would be getting double sided PEX sheets, which added stiffness. Unfortunately, even with the PEX sheets, the plates do not lie flat on the bed, nor do they lie flat on a counter top. I contacted the company as there is a definite lack of iron or thickness to their sheets. I just wanted to provide feedback since their product is VERY expensive and practically not usable to any degree to any Railcore user with a mag bed already installed. Should they increase their thickness on their sheets, they could potentially have a larger customer base since this is a popular inexpensive upgrade people can purchase with the kits sold online. Their only solution: coupon code to buy their magnetic sheet, which may not work and cover my already existing powerful magnetic bed. I would recommend just staying away from this company altogether. I’ll stick to the buildtak sheets that literally adhere to the bed so good it’s a pain to adjust vs dealing with WhamBam again.
