Heart Rate of 25 and you live - you get a pacemaker!
I fainted at Walgreen on Friday night (October 15, 2010) at about 8:30 PM. The Walgreen staff was excellent. I fainted because my heart rate was 25. That is a complete heart block. That heart rate does not support life.
The Fort Worth EMS came. First, the firefighters/EMTs and they were great. Saved my life I am sure. Then the ambulance paramedics came. Again they were great.
I went to Texas Health - Harris Methodist - Fort Worth hospital. They were excellent. The hospital has a wonderful staff. All of them from transporters, food service, house cleaning to the doctors.
I was on the 4th floor a medical heart unit. The staff that took care of me were wonderful people.
They put a pacemaker in me.
I do not like things like that...But I sure do not want to faint and end up dead.

Update: For your information, it is now 11/30/2015 and I am still alive. I have NOT had any problems with the pacemaker or with my heart. I still have the same battery. It should be good for a few more years.
Update: It is now 2/17/2019 and I still have the same battery and I have had zero problems with my heart. The pacemaker just keeps on doing the job. Every three months I transmit the heart data over the phone to the heart doctor and I go one time each year to see the heart doctor.
I will be 78 years of age next month.
Update 09/13/2020: My battery needs to replaced. I go into the hospital on the 15th.
