TANK

Tank. A muscle mass mutation has led to him becoming the most powerful Special Infected in the game. His rage is stronger than others, and after spotting survivors, he will chase them to the death.

He has 3000 health on Easy, 4000 on Normal, and 8000 on Master and Expert. In Battle Mode, he has 6000.

His attack deals 12 damage on Easy, 24 on Normal, 33 on Master, and 100 on Expert. In combat, the tank performs the same damage as on Medium.

When a survivor is knocked out, the tank performs a special finishing animation upon impact. In this case, it deals 75 damage on Easy and Medium difficulty, 100 on Master difficulty, and 150 on Expert difficulty. The survivor will also shout specific tank-specific lines. (Lines) There is no damage bonus in combat mode.

It has three appearance variations. One appears in the first Left 4 Dead game. It wears jeans, has pale white skin, and also has hair.

A slightly modified version appears in the second game. There, it is completely bald, its flesh has become red, and ulcers have appeared. Its arms are slightly smaller, and its jeans are a different color.
The third variant appears once, in the Sacrifice campaign. Survivors discover it in one of the military train cars. It has a different skin color, a Marine tattoo, and shackles on its hands. (Bill's line)

His jaw is fused with muscle due to the lack of a neck, so his tongue always sticks out. Technically, he doesn't have a head, nor does he receive a damage bonus from hitting it.

After being hit by a rock, the tank performs a short taunt animation to give survivors a chance to regroup. The duration depends on the difficulty. In Versus mode, this taunt is disabled, as it gives too much of an advantage to survivors.

Throw accuracy increases with difficulty. On Expert, it takes momentum into account and almost never misses.

However, it is still possible to dodge, including by shooting the rock itself. It can even be destroyed with a melee weapon or a thrown object.

A tank strike knocks a survivor back and stuns them briefly. The effect is enhanced if the survivor is airborne at the time.
In the Official Xbox Magazine, issue 97, there's a letter from a tank in which he says he's sad when people constantly run away from him. He just wants to make a new friend and, well, smash human skulls. The handwriting in this letter has been compared to Heavy, in part due to the number of errors.

The tank floats to the surface after dying in water, and it's unclear how much it weighs.

If the tank descends a ladder, which is extremely difficult to see in a normal game, it will play a standard human animation.

The tank's name appears in the files as "Hulk." They were voiced by the same actor, Fred Tatashor.

One of the graffiti states that a certain Lou F. has transformed into one of the big guys, likely a reference to actor Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk in old films.

The Tankbusters achievement requires the tank to be killed before it can damage any survivors. The name may allude to Ghostbusters. The Tankbuster is also an anti-tank weapon.

The achievement awarded for killing all survivors while playing as a tank is called "All Four Dead," a reference to the game's title.

WITCH

Witch. A special infected who cries and ignores her surroundings until disturbed. The only unplayable special infected. She has bright red eyes. (Sharingan) The description says she hates flashlights and loud noises, and especially gunfire. She will try to kill whoever disturbs her. Afterward, she will panic and simply run away.

She is depicted as a thin woman, especially in the comics, which is the opposite of a tank. However, the Witch possesses incredible endurance and strength. She is capable of pushing survivors in her path and incapacitating them with a single attack from her massive claws. On Expert, it instantly kills a survivor.

Final attacks on a downed survivor deal 12 damage every 0.5 seconds on Easy, 30 on Normal, 68 on Master, and 300 on Expert. It has 1000 health on all difficulties.
