Filter & Median Formula Tutorial | How to Calculate Median in Excel with Multiple Conditions
Welcome! In this video, I’ll show how to calculate the median in Excel when you have multiple conditions. Learn how to use the FILTER and MEDIAN formulas together to get accurate results for your data analysis.
In the world of compensation analysis, median is a key compensation metric. For this example, we are using a data sample of market rates for different salary grades, to determine the median value for all rates that fall within the Grades D, E and F. Since we also have data for grades G and H, we are using the FILTER formula to first narrow down the data, then combine that with the MEDIAN formula to get the median based on all data in several categories of grades.
