What it may be like to be rescued...
Working with my search and rescue team, Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group (SMRG), we were practicing patient packaging, and low angle technical rescue. This is where we use ropes and pulleys on an incline of 60º or less. Anything above 60º, and it would be classified as high angle. These techniques can be a real game changer in the field when used correctly, because the patient may not be in a easy to access location, or the conditions may call for extra caution to ensure the safety of the crew and the person we are rescuing. This video is not intended to be an instruction, but rather a perspective into what it would be like to be rescued.
