How do I improve my songwriting skills? This is a question that should be at the top of any songwriter's mind.
To "practice songwriting" is often too big and also too vague a task. I'd argue there are 3 main sub-skills involved in songwriting:
Chord Progression Writing (or harmony in general)
Melody Writing
Lyric Writing
We're going to cover the simple way to get better at songwriting by identifying the current sub-skill that is your current songwriting quality bottleneck and figuring out how to isolate that skill for practice.
