*DISCLAIMER* My experience in Medellín, Colombia was very positive, but I can't guarantee your experience will be the same based on watching my video. I'll explain it below along with FAQs.
First things first, I know how to speak Spanish at a conversational level. I can hold a conversation, so my experience was a lot smoother because I was comfortable speaking the language. I spoke Spanish 95% of the time there.

Did I feel safe in Medellín, Colombia?
Answer: Yes! I felt safe. For me, I moved around Medellín as if I was in a major city in America. I moved around with caution. Not too comfortable and not too friendly. I always had a plan every time I went outside no matter the time of day. I didn't have my phone in my hand whenever I walked. I would only bring two cards with me and my passport every time I was out. I didn't dress flashy (I wore only solid colors) or wear flashy jewelry whenever I was outside. I also don't drink alcohol or like clubbing so that removed a lot of potential issues which made me feel safe the whole trip.
How did I shoot videos in Medellín and did I feel safe recording there?
Answer: I shot videos on a DSLR camera and a tripod, but I only brought them out in areas that I knew was safe to me. I had a plan. I scoped out nice areas that I felt didn't bring attention and most importantly, I went to each area the day before without any tech gear, so when I was ready to shoot the next day, I didn't waste time. Overall, I did feel safe recording because I had a plan.
Would I recommend people to visit Medellín, Colombia?
Answer: I wouldn't recommend someone to visit any country or city unless they do their own extensive research beforehand. Crime can happen anywhere, so it really just depends on how prepared someone is. I did my research on Medellín, Colombia and I felt like I would feel safe based on all the information I researched. That can vary based on each person's perspective and values.
Did I have any cons while in Medellín, Colombia?
Answer: The flight to Medellín was tough. We had a whole lot of turbulence because there was a thunderstorm. Also, it rained a few times unexpected while I was out and I didn't have an umbrella, so that wasn't fun. lol. I eventually bought one though which you see towards the end of the video.
What did I do to have phone service in Colombia?
Answer: I call my phone provider a few days prior to my trip and paid for the international plan. It was around $40 for a week there for me.
How was transportation? Did I take a lot of Uber's or Taxi's?
Answer: I walked 95% of the time because I was mostly in El Poblado. I only used an Uber to get to the mall and the airport.
What was the price of food in Colombia?
Answer: The price of food was slightly cheaper than the cost in America. That's all I got for you. lol.
What did I use to pay for things?
Answer: I used my debit card. I went on the app beforehand and turned on the International feature and it worked perfectly. No issues at all.
What's the main item I needed to always have on me?
My passport. All the time.
What app did I use for Currency Exchange numbers?
An app called "My Currency Converter & Rates" by JRustonApps B.V.
