Fire craft using cattail seed hairs
By simply squeezing the dry cattails (typha) at this time of year, the seeds become exposed and creates a fluffy mass which is extremely flammable and is very handy as tinder. I've used this method many times with great success and amazing ease. If you combine this method along with a good nest of dry grass and/or birch bark, you'll be sure to get a fire going with only a small spark.
