UFO or cloud/haze enveloped aircraft over North Bay, ON
Apologies in advance for the crappy footage and atrocious audio but I had to post this anyways.
This all happened this evening while I was out for a bike ride around the city of North Bay, Ontario. August 30th. Time: 8:54pm.
I could not identify this flying object and what happened .
It had a (blueish or white) light at first but it was completely surrounded by a fog or haze. I totally thought it was a plane at first but the haziness struck me as odd. This is actually what attracted me to the object in the first place while I was there taking in the scenery. It was almost like a small cloud or pocket of fog was encasing the craft. The rest of the sky was perfectly clear as you can see in this video; the moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and even some stars could be seen without any evidence of the haze/fog that seemed to envelop the "UFO". As I watched it making its way towards/over Lake Nipissing (estimated it may be traveling from the north and heading south), it just disappeared, I think. All I could notice is that the light stopped and there was only a strange puff/cloud of smoke or vapor. The other odd thing I remarked right after the light basically extinguished was that the "cloud/fog" kept traveling in the same direction. The video is blurry but you can see what I am talking about. I scanned the sky in the direction it seemed to be traveling in and then scanned the sky where it came from.... NOTHING other than the "cloud". I didn't hear anything before or after this to indicate anything bad happened.
This all happened pretty quick from the time I started taking the video but the incident has left me wondering what that could have been. Was too large to be a drone. It was too close to be the ISS. I am a member of the local astronomy club and can say, with confidence, that this was NOT Venus, swamp gas, or ball lightning. It was larger than a helicopter but could very well have been a plane. My only problem is what in the actual hell happened to it and why is there only the "cloud" left over?
I apologize for the shakiness and the classic "out-of-focus" ufo video. My excuse is that it was getting dark, I only had my iPhone 8, my eyes aren't like when I was younger, and I was quite excited while not getting run over by traffic.
