Opening of the Turbo Racing Cup 2021 season
It has happened! On April 25, the Moscow Raceway Turbo Racing Cup officially opened the season of the time attack championship at the Moscow Raceway near Moscow.
Despite the contradictory weather (forecasters promised us rain, but it was only a piercing wind), TRC gathered more than a hundred pilots from different regions of the Russian Federation who want to compete for the best lap time. Those who escaped from the cold in the paddock were waiting for a warm-lamp lounge box from Original Virginia
I am especially pleased that there were many participants who came to drive with TRC for the first time. Including pilots from our cyber championship-TRC Cyber. One of them, Alexey Firsov, came to the tumbu in his first stage of the time attack! And he worthily fought for it with opponents in the Sport class on his Kia ProCeed GT.
TRC drivers competed in the Extra Light, Light, Sport, Touring, Super Sport, Ultra Sport and Hyper Sport classes, and the RS Clio Cup, Smart Cup, Subaru Cup and Ladies Racing Cup monocups were also played.
As part of the opening of the season, a new championship for experienced pilots — TRC Pro-has officially started! We divided the pilots in it into three test groups, the main criterion in which is the mass coefficient.
All the races of TRC and TRC Pro were held in an extra-team format, but this did not cancel the awarding of the best. All the winners received cups, champagne and prizes from sponsors.
The opening of the season is a time to warm up after hibernation, take a test drive of the car and check all the settings. Here, pilots are not afraid to sometimes go over the edge to check whether the car is ready for the fight. There were some departures and classic “ears” on the track, but we are all safe and racing further into the season.
The first test stage of the 2021 season will take place in less than a month — on May 22 at the Smolensk Ring track.
