As some of you know, it’s been a difficult year. I watched my father and my brother take their last breaths… a few months apart from each other.
My brother really got me… he understood me… he approved of me… we were so much alike, it was easy. He was a gift.
Loosing him, so unexpectedly after our father, really knocked the wind out of me. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to continue making music anymore. I didn’t feel like creating was enough… I didn’t feel like my contributions mattered.
Thankfully now (with the help of therapy), I realize (on most days) that I am enough and my music matters.
I am 50 today… and this feels like the best gift to give — you are enough and what you do matters.
