Push notifications from Business Central to your phone — that's the idea behind MSDyn365BC.Ntfy. In this stream session I reworked the data model that started as a proof of concept, fixing a primary key constraint that prevented multiple subscriptions per event type and adding an Enabled flag to the topic level.
The core redesign replaces the (UserName, NtfyTopic, EventType) primary key with a line number, allowing multiple subscriptions to the same event with different filter configurations. The notification dispatch uses a two-stage approach: pre-filtering event table rows before iterating, then checking per-row whether the saved filter text matches the triggering record. Matched events queue into a temporary table and are sent as REST POSTs to ntfy.sh.
I also extracted the repeated filter page builder boilerplate into a reusable NtfyHelper codeunit and restructured the UI to a proper header/lines layout — NtfyTopic as the card page header with events embedded as a subpage.
Streaming all kinds of coding for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
