In light of Yelawolf's debut solo album Radioactive, we decided to dig into our archives to recount the time we caught up with the Alabama native, well before he landed that a breakthrough deal with Shady Records. While facing a pitcher of shitty domestic beer, Yeller schooled us on his Cherokee roots and the tribal origins behind his rap name. Reminiscing the over the bumpy road, Yelawolf takes a trip down memory lane for this one as he sheds light on his previous aspirations of becoming a professional skater.
Realizing that being the next Tony Hawk wasn't in the cards, Yelawolf chose to follow his true ambition, and play his hand in the rap game. Just a year and some change after dropping his Chevy rattling Trunk Music, the rap Ricky Bobby has quickly shown spade potential, with style and charisma that can cut a salt right out of a hater's veins.
