Azure Virtual Network peering allows you to seamlessly connect two or more Virtual Networks within Azure. When virtual networks are peered, they appear as one for connectivity purposes. Here are the key points about virtual network peering:

Through VNet Peering: You can connect virtual networks to each other, enabling resources in either virtual network to communicate with each other, using virtual network peering. The virtual networks you connect can be in the same, or different, Azure regions.

Azure Virtual Network (vnet) Peering:
Azure Virtual Network peering provides a secure, efficient, and flexible way to connect virtual networks, whether they are in the same region or across different regions. It’s a powerful feature for designing complex network architectures in Azure!

Types of Peering:
Virtual Network Peering: Connects virtual networks within the same Azure region.
Global Virtual Network Peering: Connects virtual networks across different Azure regions.
Both types enable low-latency, high-bandwidth connections between resources in different virtual networks.

Benefits of Virtual Network Peering:
Low Latency: Resources in peered virtual networks can communicate with minimal delay.
Resource Communication: Enables communication between resources in different virtual networks.
Cross-Subscription and Cross-Region Communication: Data transfer between virtual networks across Azure subscriptions, deployment models, and regions.
No Downtime: Creating or modifying peering does not cause downtime for resources.
Private Traffic: Traffic between peered virtual networks stays within Microsoft’s private backbone network, avoiding the public Internet.
Network Security Groups: Apply network security groups to control access between peered virtual networks.

Technical Details:
Direct Connectivity: Resources in either virtual network can directly connect with resources in the peered virtual network.
Network Latency: Latency between virtual machines in peered virtual networks within the same region is similar to that within a single virtual network.
Throughput: Based on the allowed bandwidth for each virtual machine.
No Gateway or Public Internet: Traffic routes through Microsoft’s backbone infrastructure.
Security: Apply network security groups to restrict access between peered virtual networks
