While blasting about in my buggy at work I came across what I first thought was a chunk of asphalt lifted out of the driveway/roadway. As I approached I quickly realized it was actually what appears to be a baby flicker.
After multiple attempts at placing him in trees and bushes, I soon realized he had no intention of leaving me for some... odd reason?

Coming to the conclusion that I need to get to work and couldn't exactly fully-rehabilitate a bird on the spot, I opted on placing him on the Oh-Shit handles in the buggy... Where he promptly relocated himself to my shoulder, a la pirate-esque/disney princess style.
After spending a good 2 hours at work with him perched asleep there, freaking out the other tradies/workers and having a 3 minute convo with the boss where only at the end did she realize it was a real bird, he finally shook himself awake, took a shit on my shoulder and flew off into the wild as I sat outside on break.

Nature's pretty cool sometimes.
