"Pack" With Satan (1988)
In 1987 my parents bought me a very nice electric guitar but I barely learned to play. I was more interested in pretending to be a guitar god than putting in the effort to learn. Three years ago I began teaching myself music theory and sight reading on piano. Last month I booked a job as a guitar playing character on a tv show. Thankfully I didn’t have to be a good guitar player but my interest was reignited. I’ve absorbed more this month than the last 30 years. I’ll never be a guitar god but don’t let anyone tell you that it’s impossible to keep learning skills when you’re older. I feel like it’s the exact opposite. And yes, I thought it was ”pack with Satan” not “pact”.
