Season 2 of Game of Thrones had a pretty difficult task ahead of itself from the very start. The stroy of A Song of Ice and Fire is very ambitious, but the first season had an advantage with there really only being 3 or 4 storylines, and a main character to root for and take up a lot of screentime with Ned Stark. Not to mention the star power that Sean Bean brought to the show that would get people to watch in the first place.
