The Ultimate Guide to Spotting Monarch Eggs in Your Garden

There are many different types of milkweed, each with varying growing conditions and behaviours in the garden. To support the monarch butterfly in your garden, take a quick search for native milkweeds to your area to ensure that you are planting a native plant that supports the monarch butterfly, your local ecosystem, and won't disturb other native plant populations.
In my small, suburban gardens in Southern Ontario, I have common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca), butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa), and swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) - so far!
It makes me SO happy to find eggs on my milkweed plants. As the saying goes, "if you plant it, they will come!" Please consider planting milkweed in your gardens as well to support the monarch butterfly, and many other pollinators as well!
