Math teachers betrayed us all! | An introduction to complex numbers
In these series of videos, I'm going to talk about complex numbers and show you how we can use these amazing numbers. When you solve a quadratic equation using the famous quadratic formula, if the discriminant is negative, we have two complex numbers which are amazing.
They have a real part and also an imaginary part. The real part is familiar, but the imaginary part is a real number multiplied by i, the square root of negative one.
PS: Math teachers must have had a good reason not to introduce complex numbers. Maybe because they didn't want us to be confused!
Ironically, I have made a silly mistake in this video removing the square root of 5 when introducing i. My math teacher must have taught me complex numbers sooner than needed 😅
