This tutorial shows how to use the speech bubble made in a previous tutorial in a simple animation. Dialogue is created by speech bubbles appearing and disappearing.
Making objects appear and disappear is often required. In the Outliner window the 'eye' icon allows you to show/hide objects, this can be key framed but it only works in 3D View window.
In MS PowerPoint there are many ways to animate bullet points appearing and disappearing. Fade in and out can be achieved by key framing material transparency. In this tutorial 'shrink and grow' is used. The speech bubbles are shrunk (scaled to zero) and grow (scale set to one) when required to appear. By making the grow happen in an instance the bubble suddenly appears.
