MAMECADE.com: Dungeons & Dragons Mattel Electronics Handheld Game
Dungeons & Dragons Electronic Handheld game was release in 1981 by Mattel Electronics.
It was an LCD labyrinth game that basically was a modified take of the 1971 BASIC computer game, Hunt The Wumpus.
Part of Mattel's Action Arcade Series The Dungeons & Dragons Computer Fantasy Game, as it was officially dubbed. It was one of the many licenses TRS Hobbies release for D&D during the 1980's.
You play an archer lost in an 100 chamber maze looking for the hidden magic arrow to slay the dragon that is lurking somewhere nearby. Try to avoid the deadly pits are strewn about and a look out for the giant bat that will clutch you and carry you deeper into the labyrinth.
With 3 levels of play, Mattel Electronics Dungeons & Dragons Computer Fantasy Game is a wonderful early example of the LCD handheld game experience.
