How Humility Helps Us | Theocast
When you hear "humility," do you flinch—remembering pastors who used the word to crush you? Jon Moffitt and Justin Perdue talk about humbling yourselves under God's mighty hand (1 Peter 5): not as spiritual self-harm, but because God is mighty to save. Humility leads you to cast anxieties on him who cares for you.
In this episode you'll hear:
Why "be humble" talk often lands as law without gospel
Humility as confessing our insufficiency and Christ's all-sufficiency
1 Peter: under the mighty hand that saves and delivers
Casting anxieties because he cares for you
Suffering for doing good without prosperity myths
Hope set fully on grace at Christ's revelation
Who it's for: Believers bruised by heavy-handed humility preaching, anxious Christians learning to cast cares on God, and Reformed Baptists wanting gospel-shaped Christian living.
