U.S. Seniors Are Battling Loneliness. These Teens Want to Pamper Them.
Glamour Gals wants to end senior loneliness through intergenerational bonds — and a little nail polish. Rachel Doyle created the nonprofit organization 24 years ago after her grandmother passed away in an assisted living facility. She realized many seniors didn’t receive visitors and wanted to find a way to connect them with teens. According to a recent MedicareFAQ report, more than 57% of seniors in the U.S. feel lonely.
