New CEO Micah Mallace outlines bold vision for South Carolina Ports' future growth
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A new face led this year's annual State of Ports in North Charleston - the company's new president and CEO Micah Mallace. He took on the role just a few weeks ago after his predecessor abruptly resigned from the position in August.
During his address, Mallace spoke about the successes and challenges of the industry, and his plans for the future.
More than 1,000 Lowcountry residents, business owners, and investors gathered for Mallace's first address as president and CEO of South Carolina Ports on Tuesday.
Mallace focused his presentation on growth and new ways he sees that will expand the port's reach into the growing Southeast region.
"We will use whatever we have to do in order to offer incentivized economics, operational considerations, or whatever else is needed to incentivize people to come and do more business with us," Mallace said.
