Organizing Your Home Network [DIY Wiring Closet]
A simple do-it-yourself wiring closet can provide network, video, speaker and other signals to your house. If you have technical skills this is relatively simple and adds many advantages, such as:
Keeps dusty computers, routers, and other "boxes" hidden away from their associated screens. Hidden equipment makes your home look neater.
Having your computer equipment in one place makes interconnection between the computer and router simple, since they only require a short cable. It's easier to add, remove, and troubleshoot.
You can take advantage of the simplicity and reliability of a wired connection everywhere possible (such as smart TVs), instead of relying on a wireless connection.
With all of your network equipment in a centralized wiring closet, adding a UPS allows you to keep home Internet and security cameras running during a power outage.
