Have trouble remembering the name of a stereo input that goes with an audio component? (For example, "Tape 1" is a CD Player and "Tape 2" is a cassette deck and "Aux" is an 8 track and so on...). A better solution is this Raspberry Pi project: a touch screen audio input selector! This project requires some basic hardware and software skills, mixing them into a fun starter project with a real world application. As you may know most line level audio signals (the red and white RCA jacks on the back of equipment) have 2 connections: left and right channels, aka stereo. So the 16-channel relay board allows the Raspberry Pi to switch up to 8 audio components! The coding part of this project is ReactJS (handles the UI) and Python (Web service that activates the appropriate relay). The result is I can select an audio source by clicking its image on a phone or tablet. The applications for this project go way beyond audio: with the Python "relay service" built here, we could have the relays control almost anything. We hope you enjoy this fun project.
