Meepo Cyclone Wheels Efficiency Test & First Thoughts
In this video, I did an efficiency test with the new Meepo Cyclone wheels, to see how much battery they consume, compared to all the other wheels that I've tested.
In order to do these efficiency tests, I use the same exact route, with the goal of providing the most accurate data possible. On this route, I split it into three segments, with the first being 15-20mph, second being 20-25mph, and then the third being 15-20mph. After riding at these speeds and factoring in stopping at stop lights, the average speed comes out to about 15 mph. I have done the same for each of the other wheels I've tested.
Once I complete the full review, I will be able to provide more detailed data, and like I mentioned, the wind is a large factor. It's unfortunate that it was over 10mph of wind on the day that I did the test. If I have time, I will redo it, but for now, it's a decent enough baseline to have an idea of how much power these consume.
The consumption number for these turned out to be quite high, up there with pneumatics and the other rubber wheels. I though that these might have lower consumption overall but this range test says otherwise. Looking at the averages of the other 30 miles I've done, they aren't too bad.
