In the first of a series, we use HIPS filament to create a mold, mix cement with superplasticizer, use acetone to soften the HIPS, and demold the cured cement.
Acetone does not completely dissolve HIPS, but it can quickly soften the filament enough to easily and completely remove the mold. 30 minutes is a good starting point for leaving a HIPS mold in acetone.
