Hostile Herod || On not being hostile
Hostile Herod was king during the time Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
We call him Hostile because he asked his soldiers to kills all the male children in Israel from age 0-2yrs because he did not know where Jesus was born and who He was.
The wise men who saw the star that Jesus was born went to look for Jesus so they can worship him and give him gifts; they told king Herod that he King is born and they were looking for him. King Herod told them to let him know when they found him; they did not know he was full of jealousy and wanted to kill baby Jesus.
An Angel told the wise men in their dream not to go back to Herod after finding Jesus, so they did not go back to tell Herod about Jesus. That was why Herod was killing all the baby children in Israel just to find Jesus.
But God had told Joseph to take Jesus to Egypt for a while. They only returned when Herod died.
Let's remember to be welcoming of people who need our help, or who visit our home, town, school or anywhere. We all need help so we should be willing to also help others.
